Ghost World Soundtrack (2001)
Consisting mostly of director Terry Zwigoff's (Who also did the dark humoured 'Bad Santa' and my favourite documentary 'Crumb'. When I 1st rent it out, the guy in the shop said what it was good fun flick, what he didn't say; you will be depressed for a week afterwards.) own 78 record collection, a mix of '20s, '30s big band, ragtime and amazing blues tracks. To be honest normally after 5 songs of most blues records i turn it off, but not this album. The slices from Skip James, Robert Wilkins and Craig Ventresco are classics. If thats not enough, Soundtrack and film opener 'Jaan Pehechaan Ho' from a Bollywood rarity sounds like a song from one of those dim a dozen Elvis Surf movies from the '60s but in the Bollywood Tradition.
Here is 'Jaan Pehechaan Ho' in it's original form. Great great stuff.
