The Drones play "The Ballroom of Romance" on Portello, Dublin this Saturday. The apocalyptic "Jezebel" (see Video) alone is worth the admission fee. With it's Blix-esque stabbing guitar, and raving preacherman vocals sounds quite renascent to fellow Australians; Nice Cave and the Bad Seeds. The drones 6 foot plus frontman sounds like he's be out in the bush too long and the album come across as their answer to Neil Young's "On The Beach".Maybe they should have called it "On The Bush" instead of naming it after the barn in Tazmania where they recorded the album in.
