Live Film Score Show At The Box Social with Hulk, Ewa Gigon,Children Under Hoof, This Sat.. 25th of April

This saturday, another live film scoring show, I promise it won't be as intenso as the last one, we probably couldnt make it as heavy if we tried.
Anyways we are luckly to get a rare live outing from Hulk, he was going to play the last film scoring show till a bike crash took him of the bill. But he's back fighting fit for this one. Also we got Polands best import Ewa gigon who will be spinning her enchanting loop. Children Under Hoof plus friends have been called in to the fray after one of the acts dropped out at the last minute. They will be doing a scene from a classic John Carpenter film.

"Words cant explain the beauty and emotion this music displays" - Angry Ape
"An elegant, delicate walk through a deserted citadel" - PLAN B Magazine
"...haunting, captivating and doesnt bear much resemblance to anything else."- The Milkfactory

Eerie ethereal loops from Polish Ewa Gigon.

Thanks to all that came out and supposed the Box Social, Hulk and Ewa were both spellbounding, better than even I could have predicted since it was my first time experiencing both live. Both films they played along too really highlighted their stengths and in case anyone was wondering what films they played too, it was "Viy" (1967) and "Alice" (1988) respectively. With the help from the lovely Erin on double bass, Children Under Hoof arent half bad if I do say so myself. You got to dig into a abit of self back slapping sometime I think when the chips are cold and there isnt a drop of ketchup left.

New Youth - "Sacred Trickster"

Im pretty unconvinced by "The lead track on the forthcoming Sonic Youth album ‘The Eternal’". This from a group that once did very little wrong. Here's the link.

Lucky Dragons - Nirvana Covers

So It was 15 years since Kurt Cubain's death, Nirvana's influence still lives on though all facets in popular music today. Here's a split I found a Lucky "Touch me, I'm transcending time and space with I'm ether tentacles" Dragons and Y.A.C.H.T. full of nirvana covers thats, well, wierd and kind of proves my point. Here's two of the covers.

Abe Vigoda - The Reaper

Still no Irish tour date on the horizon, boo, and they have been touring the UK 3 times already, Not cool. New Reviver EP is quite a departure in style compared to their Last album, but in a good way. Lyrical songs have matured and are darker in atmosphere. Its a good sign that the next long player should be even better than Skeleton. Here the longest song I have of theirs, near the five minute mark, quite long since most of the songs on Skeleton are two minutes something.

Psychic TV - Godstar

I spent all saturday cycling around listening to this on repeat. Perfect pop from one of two bands form after the collapse of Throbbing Gristle. The other group formed in the wake being Chris & Cosey.
