Since the film is just out, here is the graphic novel. They are CBZ files and i didn't know what you are suppose to do will. But you could open with winRAR and view them like a normal photo anywho.

.CBZ files are zip files, basically.
7zip will automatically handle them, but if you have problems you can rename the file to *****.zip and get to the images inside like any other archive.
CBR files are designed to be read with CDisplay - http://www.geocities.com/davidayton/CDisplay
Although, as you say, you can treat them as a rar and open them that way too.
