Solaris O.S.T. (2002)

Composer Cliff Martinez was made a intimate and
hypnotic soundtrack awash with orchestral waves
that are interspersed with subdued steel-drum
rhythms. Great score from a underrated film.

I watch the first 5 or 10 mins. of Tarkovsky's film late one night, but fell asleep. Have Andrei Rublev and Mirror on dvd which i still haven't got around to watching. Ivan's Childhood is truely amazing and thats why i got the others. This soundtrack is well worth a listen. The uses of steel drums creates a great trance inducing effect. It makes me wonder why they're not used more. Other than "The Knife" i can't think of another contemporary artist using them.
