Live At The Box Social, Trails, The Saurus, Matthew Doyle, Sat 30 of May

box social poster
The 8th Box social show, a straight up "Rock" show, while the most rock band show Ive organised so far thats not full on noise.

Trails
Winners of the inaugural Nobel Prize for Rock n' Roll, Trails will excite the eardrums of even the most ardent musical fascists. The London based six piece acknowledges disparate influences such as The Rolling Stones, Def Leppard and Dire Straits. Singer Judas Concubine says: "We just do our thing y'know.... We're essentially a link in a longer chain... the Stones, Kinks, Pistols, Oasis, Nickleback,Trails... who'll be next I can't say, but you know they'll be really
important for, like, everyone.... I'm not saying we're currently the world's best or most important band, but undeniably there's no one else these days who could fill our, y'know... shoe?" Notable for all the right reasons, Trails has established itself through anthemic rock-a-thons like "World of You and Me", "Everyone is Saved", "So Long (So Long)" and many more. The dual guitar work of John Rival and Marc DeNeaux, Paul Nadger's straight-as-a-dye bass playing, the thunderous drumming of Thomas McGhahaughahannahan and
the majestical synth playing of Rudo Svelte all combine to build a stunning platform of rock supermacy for Judas Concubine's soaring vocals and life-affirming lyricism.

The Saurus.
A mysterious two piece from Donegal and Derry that help simmer down heightening tensions on the Foyleside with their noise hurdy gurdy Donavon covers back in 2002 that even brought a tear to Michael Gira's dreary eye . After a lengthy career break, they are now back and more blazin than ever, playing a mix of time tested crowd favourites and just plain old white noise.

Matthew Doyle,
With the spunk of Barman, , Perkins and Lomax, dubliner Matthew Doyle was been slowly carving out his own style of post palace blues over that last few years.
