"Wednesday" A Painting By Sam Keogh
An award winning short made by a friend of mine.
I watched him animate a couple of frames when he
was making it. Good to see it's doing well around
the festivals.

Echo And The Bunnymen - Crocodiles (1980)
A friend of mine borrow a my copy of the just release, just
bought "Summer Make Good" by Mum. He wanted to hear it
before he went to their sold out show that week, a couple
of days later he returned it will a scratch, he fell bad
because i just bought it and now one track skipped, so
he burned me " Promise Of Love" by American Analog Set
and "Crocodiles", the first Echo And The Bunnymen album.
Both albums were my first glimpses in to their great
back catalog and both still remain my favourite of
both bands. Classic.

Broadcast - Tender Buttons (2005)
I think I probably listen to this album more than any
other album last year. It's their last album and first
with out a drummer and as a result, with the addition
of a drum machine the album is full of noisy analog
circling grooves. You could cycle for miles with "Black
Cat" on your headphones and many a steep hill that song
has helped me climb. Any regulars will know the song
"Michael A Grammar" which I put on "Silence Is A Rhythm
Mixtape" which is a bona fide classic. It's been quite
in the Broadcast camp of late, but at the start in the
year there was talk of an new album dropping maybe by
the end of the year. Here's hoping it's as good as this
one.

Amadou And Mariam - Dimanche À Bamako (2005)
Fantastic album by a blind couple from Mali. I had
the pleasure off seeing them at last years Electic
Picnic, great boogie tunes. The album is somewhat
spoiled by Manu Chao's silly production, in one song
he even has ambulance sirens going off (see Video)
and he rears his head on one track, which is the only
bad track on the album.

Film School - Film School (2006)
They may sounded abit too much like the beloved "Echo
And The Bunnymen", and the singer's american drawl
will not sit well for some people but if you give it a couple
of listens Film School have made a rewarding record full
of droney 80s guitars, underpined by bouncy basslines.
It's a grower thats for sure.

Broken Social Scene - Feel Good Lost (2001)
Their debut album is a strange mix of ambient electronica and
instrumental post rock. An album that seeps into your pores,
and slowly takes you on a journey into the unknown.Unlike
their later records, which are full to the brim with anthemic
pop rock hits, this is a far more delicate affair. It was a bit
of a surprise when I first got it, a good surprise though.

Faster Pussycat Kill Kill
This is one of the best two minutes ever put on film,
real unadulterated threat. You can see why John Water
says it's his favourite movie.
