A night of phasing psychrock folk.

United Bible Studies
Sometimes 8 droogs strong psychrock juggernaut with a revolving door of hurdy gurdys, harps, Mellow Candles vocalists and Weapons of Mass Destruction drumming. Its hard not to get trances out by their post "Current 93" grooves.

Jeffery Lewis & The Junkyard - If Life Exists?
Sick today, yesterday aswell, but you can't be well all the time.
I watched this video over a year ago, good to see the song appearing on his new album, which like all his albums is pretty darn great, still its the 12 Crass Covers that holds a special place in my heart.
For another good "Black Cab Sessions" vid, cast your eyes on Final Fantasy previewing a new song in this video.

Josh Raskin and James Braithwaite - I Met The Walrus
In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do an interview. 38 years later, Levitan, director Josh Raskin and illustrator James Braithwaite have collaborated to create an animated short film using the original interview recording as the soundtrack.
Wow.
(Thanks to Panti for the heads up)

Cold Cave's Debut LP

"The Trees Grew Emotions And Died" EP from last year was one joyous dark minimal affair but their first long player shines away from their cold wave Iron Curtain leanings towards a popper New Order esque sound. In doing so I think some of their charm as been lost. It's an enjoyable listen and still well worth getting but just not the epic dark one that I was hoping for, I need the dark stuff.

What's Up? Again

what's up - harper (live @ holocene 6.4.09) from whatsupmedia on Vimeo.
I picked up their "Seasonings Greeting" tape single early in the year and now the new What's Up?'s debut LP has landed and certainly doesn't disappoint. Pulsating, hynotic and still as a pinch of The Advantage (Main man Robby Moncrief's previous band) in it. Im still waiting on road records to get the vinyl I order in but Ive been tapping in to its sultery playfull ways, having it stuck on repeat since I downloaded it three weeks ago.
